Our Story

Kashcrafts is an inception of a young thoughtful mind that went online to promote the traditional heritage of Kashmir. Being itself an Artisan, Kashcrafts was established in Delhi during the 2008 unrest in Kashmir upon a desire to bring the centuries-old timeless Kashmir art to the world. The ultimate aim is to preserve traditional Kashmiri art and market it all over the world much like it was in the eighteenth & nineteenth centuries. This preservation will help maintain the legacy of the people of the Kashmir as contributor to the artistic and cultural depth of the world.

There are nearly 2.50 lacs artisans directly dependent upon handicrafts in the state for their livelihood and there is still great potential for more employment to be generated in this sector if the markets are expended and demand is increased. Today, however, the word “pashmina” is used indiscriminately, and many scarves made from natural or synthetic fiber are sold under the name “Pashmina”, creating confusion in the market. Whether you are looking for the soft embrace of Pashmina & Cashmere, or to charm up your attire with the best of Kashmiri Embroideries like Aari & Sozni or to décor up your home with Paper Machie & Walnut Wood, we have got you covered. We are your convenient connection to the best of Kashmir, an easy way to get all the beautiful products as easily and hassle free as is possible.

The designs patterns and embroidery all help to define the rich artistic and cultural legacy of the Kashmiri people and so the Kashcrafts finds the honor in helping to flourish the legacy and heritage. Timeless art keeps artisans and the weavers employed and provides essential livelihood to their families. We believe that such revival of the art can transform the lives of the artisans in the war torn Kashmir valley and Kashcrafts are committed to making that revival a reality.

At Kashcrafts, we are a community, a family of local artisans, craftsmen, producers and creative from different arts and crafts of Kashmir. We work together in creating the Brand Kashmir, we strive together to take Kashmir, its rich tradition to the outside world. Our mission is to make the Local Artisan of Kashmir, a proud, economically sound Artist, who is valued for his hard work and efforts and acknowledged by the world as he deserves to be. We strive to unveil the Artisan who has been hiding behind the retailer, hiding behind the distributor and those long intermediary chains. We want the world to know him, the artist behind the masterpiece.

Kashcrafts is a community with more than 17,000 artisan families involved and we are still growing to reach them all over our valley. ??
